Apply for Summer Internships with ACTFL

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are looking for recent graduates or current students enrolled in a graduate program to participate in our paid Summer Internship and Scholars Program! This is an eight-week internship from June 10th through August 9th. The application deadline is April 15, 2024.

Virtual AAPPL Familiarization Workshop

April 27 one-day introduction to the AAPPL for all language professionals. Link proficiency and performance to show how these concepts both inform the AAPPL and can be used to assess growth in the three modes of communication. Registration closes April 24 at 5:00 p.m.

Find a Scholarship

Applications are currently open for summer study abroad scholarships. Each scholarship has it's own application criteria and deadlines some close as early as March 30. Scholarships are available in Spanish, French, and Italian.

Teacher Scholarships Available

The Lead with Languages Teacher Scholarship Program provides recipients with an award of $1,500 per academic year.  Open to students of both 2-year and 4-year institutions. Applications close May 31.

The ACTFL Discover program is designed to support world language educators by offering accessible and flexible digital micro-learning courses, providing the tools they need to make a real impact in the classroom.

Neurodiversity: An Overview for World Language Educators

This course focuses on neurodiversity in the world language classroom. It challenges the idea that one learning style fits all and emphasizes embracing each student's unique strengths. The course aims to:

• Dismantle the myth that learning differences prevent language acquisition.
• Empower educators to celebrate neurodiversity and create a more inclusive learning environment.
• Equip teachers with research and resources to support all learners.
